2nd Annual Sistahs Shredding Hunger Event:
WOW! We rocked it. Thank you to all our Sistahs,Lucky Hoos, friends and volunteers. It is amazing how much we canaccomplish when we work together as a team. The Shred-It employees andFarm Fresh made this the most profitable fundraiser for the FoodBank to date,with the exception of the Mayflower Marathon! We even surpassed last year’sawesome numbers! This April, we collected 5,655 pounds of food, which equatesto 13,361 meals for our community and $2,767.00 in cash donations, whichequates to over $16,600.00 in FOOD BUYING POWER! A special thank you toour event Chair, Sistah Missy Marcus forall her hard work and to her Co-Chairs, Nolie and DianeVanCampen.
We are anticipating hosting another event in October, if possible!
Relay for Life Update
Money raised as of 5/15/2012 is $7,105.00 and our numbers will continue to climb! We are still calculating proceeds from our event salesto make another Team Woohoo Sistahs donation and we fully expect to reach our $10,000.00 goal…thanks primarily to the sales of our WTF shirts! We had a fantastic turn out.19 Sistahs throughout the event and despite the crazy weather a good time was had by all in attendance. The day started off hot-hot-hot and we sold every WTF tank top in inventory then it cooled down and folks wanted long sleeves and then it got rainy and way cool and we sold sweatshirts!
